Want to go organic?

Organic lawn care is all about creating a healthy soil for your turf. One great benefit to going organic is to lessen pest and disease pressure. Try the following organic lawn schedule on your yard.

February: Apply Horticultural Dry Molasses and Horticultural Cornmeal at a rate of 20 lbs. per 1,000 square feet.

March: Apply an organic fertilizer of your choice. There are many brands to choose from.

May: Apply Medina Soil Activator

June - September: Keep lawn well watered to help prevent chinch bugs. If you need to you can control chinch bugs with a Organocide Insect and Disease Control. If you see any chlorosis in the lawn you can apply Greensand.

August: In early August apply Horticultural Dry Molasses and Horticultural Cornmeal to prevent brown patch fungus. If you have to control active brown patch then treat with Serenade Lawn Fungicide.

October: Apply an organic fertilizer.

*For control of weeds you can spot treat with Agrilawn Crabgrass Killer .

* A top dressing of compost is always a great benefit. Apply when grass is actively growing.

* Fire ants can be controlled with an orange oil drench or a spinosad bait
