Cornellius used to be great, at least to some people. I never saw what others saw, but I didn't live in the area and by what I could gather, for a long time, it was a family nursery that provided a lot of good memories for people. Like shopping where their parents shopped and seeing some of the same staff. It was familiar and comforting.

My own visits were noted by seeing mostly teenagers running the registers, helping with takeouts and only one or two "older" workers. These older folks were helpful but they were often overwhelmed with questions once people realized that they knew something about gardening.

I think there are some good deals from time to time at Cornellius. I've missed out on buying some great trees and bushes but overall, I only visit once or twice a year to see if I can locate something unique or exceptional. I usually leave with nothing.

I tend to agree with Stargazer. Cornellius is being run like a big
corporation that is there to make money. Many of their staff that I knew
and respected are gone and it is not fun to shop there any more. The selection is
not as good as it used to be and the prices are even higher.

What is going on with this place? Not the same as it was 5 years ago. This is where my mom and grandmother always shopped so I thought I'd try it out now that I am gardening. Not how I remember it when I would shop with them. I have found a few places I like but none are how I remember Cornelius being. I'm sad to see them looking like they are going under.
