Had a wonderful time searching through the nursery as they have a large selection and their prices are so good we went back twice and purchased. I enjoy the fact that they were very helpful in answering questions that I had and although there were some muddy and wet places I truly enjoyed going through the nursery. Their prices are outstanding folks and the quality is very good. Put this on your list of must visit nurseries.

I admit it, I love the place on I-10 in Katy. Its muddy, which keeps away fickle gardeners and the pretentious "once a year in Spring" gardening types, and while labeling can be inconsistent, its a real hoot to go through the grounds, looking for small treasures, often on sale. I too wait mostly for the late fall, when everything is on deep discount. I'll buy truckloads from them, including plants that look like death warmed over. They often revive magically within a few weeks of planting and I like that challenge and reward, particularly when I've paid a buck or two for a large plant (many, many times).
Service is pretty non-existent and you can't expect much help, except to carry out heavy items. So, I think the place caters mostly to knowledgeable gardeners who find most "help" at nursery centers to be an irritant but not a barrier to buying. I even like the mud. I wear mudding boots for gardening so I bring them and just walk everywhere. Its like a forcefield keeping people out, so when it rains, the place is like walking through a private garden. These centers will never have fancy classes or cooking classes or wine tastings or any of the other marginal gardening activities you find at places with far higher prices. But the plants are good. If you are an above average knowledgeable gardener, I think its a fine place to frequent. |

Huge selection, good prices (especially in the fall when everything is 75% off). The best orchard tree selection that I know of in the area, as well as tons of trees, shrubs, and grasses. Lots of the palm tree standards for Houston (mexican, queen, Chinese fan, etc). The parking lot and pathways are very muddy!

Mud! Mud! Mud! Do not wear shoes that you like or that you want to wear again.
