I am not now nor have I ever been impressed by Lowe's garden center. For the most part, their employees are not knowledgeable and their customer service people are not friendly. The ONLY thing in their favor is that they have their plants arranged in such a way that it's easier to the basic gardening moron to know if they are sun or shade friendly. If you want answers, go to Plants for all Seasons on SH249. They can answer all of your questions.

Neither Home Depot or Lowe's garden center checkouts are very customer friendly. However, if you're looking for landscaping materials (stone, brick, pavers, fencing, posts, trellis wire), Home Depot is alway about 10% cheaper than lowes.

For the best deal on soils and peat moss, go to Walmart.

"FYI I am the founder of this website. I spent 125.00+ in Lowe's today. I went to Home Depot first but they were sold out of the fertilizer spreaders that I needed. I walked into the Lowe's garden center at 249 and Cypresswood and I noticed how much better their color was presented than Home Depot. Their color was fresh and well displayed. I was in the checkout way too long because their POS system did not scan the customer in front of me correctly. She wanted the proper sale price. I don't blame her. Checkout was not customer friendly. "
